Growing up under the nurturing embrace of traditional Chinese culture, I found inspiration from stories that left a profound impact on me, such as the tale of Zhuangzi's Dream of the Butterfly. In essence, Zhuangzi dreamed he was a butterfly, and upon waking, he pondered whether he was Zhuangzi who had dreamt of being a butterfly, or a butterfly now dreaming of being Zhuangzi. In this narrative, Zhuangzi poses a philosophical question - how do we truly understand reality? If a dream feels real enough, it's challenging for us to discern whether we are dreaming or awake. My fascination with butterflies drew me into the realm of ancient Chinese philosophy, leading me to incorporate butterfly motifs and traditional Chinese elements into my artistic creations. My creative philosophy resonates with Zhuangzi's ponderings - as I create my artworks, they, in turn, shape and create me.
